While I know I have wrote about patience before, I think I need to revisit this noun. Most of us want, what we want, when we want it! We want things on demand, like a cable program. I want continuous prosperity and eternal monetary grace to be bestowed upon my children. Now I will just use my remote . . . pull up on demand . . . and tadaah prosperity and eternal monetary bestowment . . . then I wake up! God is in charge and he will continue to order my steps. I need to place my ego in my night stand and get over myself. I want it all and I want it now!

Yesterday I listened to a friend try to convenience me that he was not annoyed by a negative comment made by his coworker. He explained the situation, in his own eloquent way, and soon became persistent about making me believe he was not bothered. While I could've played along, I thought it was important to be truthful with my friend. He was annoyed for all the reason's he told me he was not annoyed! Profound. It reminds me of when people start a sentence with "I don't mean to be negative but . . ." Oh they absolutely mean to be negative otherwise why is it necessary to make this statement? What do you need to be truthful about? What posses people to go on road trips? I can appreciate togetherness but spending time in a motor vehicle for an endless number of hours is not my idea of quality time. You can accomplish the objective of connectivity and togetherness without being stuck in a car. I appreciate family growth and development but being captive in a car would not be my first choice . . . or my last choice. What about you, what do you think of road trips? |
