1. Accept what has happened to you up to this point.
2. Write down what you want. That is - do what, to what, by when. 3. Take small steps toward making progress. 4. Place yourself in the company of people who are doing what you want to do. Watch them. 5. Act as if you already have what you want. When you act as if, you radiate what you want toward you. I love working . . . or should I say learning. Keeping my mind open to receiving information from multiple sources is critical to my growth. Should I decide to only learn from certain resources I essentially block myself from receiving insight because of my mental model . . . this is a mistake WAY too many people make. What are you willing to do to think beyond your current circumstances?
Have you ever dreamed about something so much that your dream suddenly becomes reality? You know the dream, I wish I was in a different position in my company, I wish I could lose five pounds, I wish my sister was more understanding. The dream is always about something you don't have. Sometimes the dream is unrealistic (I want to be the King of England) and sometimes the dream is perfectly possible (I want to write a book). Suddenly your dreams come true and your tomorrow is now today. Now you have to dream a different dream. What are you doing to start your tomorrow today?
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas . . . you know the rest. I love Christmas not just because I get uninterrupted time with my family, also because this seems to be the one time a year when we are all good with buying . . . buying and more buying! While I do my best to not overspend, you have to admit the massive deals on merchandise are attractive to willing spenders. This has been a challenging week, but I'm determined to remain steadfast. I understand obstacles can make us stronger and my goodness did I experience obstacles! I continue to tell myself that it is all good and soon I will start believing it : )
Soon, I will be teaching etiquette and poise to high school girls in my community at our local Holiday Inn. The cost to the parents is zero. I decided to teach etiquette and poise to the girls because as good as we are, we can always be better. Manners and grace are attribues that make a difference. Who among us wants to spend time with someone who is perceived as rude or pushy? Most people don't. Among the most exciting piece of this adventure is I am giving it away!
I can't believe it is fall. Summer just started and don't remember spring AT ALL! Oh well. I had the best day with my extended family at an amusement park. Though the day started off a bit rainy, it ended with sun and we had a blast! Amusement parks remind me of summer, long days and warm weather. While today was not as warm as normal summer temperatures and the days are getting shorter, it was nice to have 10 hours of a summer "like" weather. What is your favorite season?
Yesterday my son was disappointed because he did not play a specific football position. In fact, he said he was angry! My counsel to him was to not allow one event to determine his mood. Everyone experiences setbacks and disapointments, it's reality! Things are going to happen, however the way in which we respond to these events is crucial. We select our mood, no one else. It's like choosing your own adventure, I decide my mood. How about you, who chooses your mood?
