What does it mean to be educated? Does it mean you have attended a college or university and received a bachelor’s degree? Does it mean you can spit out specific data on command? Being educated means you continue to develop your mind through reading, listening and reflecting and have the capacity to get what you want when you need it. Developing your mind is a critical component of Thinking Beyond Your Current Circumstances. Through Thinking Beyond Your Current Circumstances you will effectively make your dreams a reality by first grasping your current situation then measure how far you are away from achieving your dreams and finally analyze things you need to do to make them a reality then take action. Educated people consistently follow this path to achieve their dreams. What are you doing to develop your mind and become more educated?

At least two people referenced that it was almost Friday, last Monday & Tuesday. Friday is just another day of the week, another twenty four hour block of time. Why are Friday's so special? What is the special-ness attached to Friday's about? When I was in high school, Friday's represented going to a football or basketball game with my friends, not having to get up early the next day, staying up late, late night phone calls, and eating out. Friday's also represented freedom, unscheduled activities, free thinking un-scrutinized, decompression from homework and dealings with teachers and peers. Now that I'm older, I still stay up late on Friday's and look forward to decompression from the week. I guess not much has changed. What makes Friday's special to you? What is a classroom? Is it simply a room with chairs, tables, desks and a wipe board? I say no! A classroom is much more than a place; it is a state of mind. Each time one of my co-workers gives me information or data that helps me accomplish my task, they have invited me into their classroom. Every time I give information or data, I am inviting people into my classroom. The cool thing is we virtually step into many types of classrooms without knowing it. How many classrooms have you been in today? I am fascinated with what is most important to people and what their values are. Everything we do, typically, can be traced back to our values. For example, I value freedom - that is the freedom to choose to do things that bring me the most joy. As a result, I am constantly searching for opportunities to utilize my skills, knowledge and abilities, so I never feel stuck . . . without a way to get out! Having the ability to choose is also one of my critical values. Though, I can't trace my two critical values back to a specific moment in time where my freedom and choices were compromised , I do know both drive most of my decision making. What is most important to you? What are your values? |
