Can people be enthusiastic during an economic downtown? I think so. Many of us are in positions where we have to think differently about how we spend our money, our time, and our energy. Being enthusiastic, like most things, is a choice. Sometimes when I'm doing something that is oppressive, like laundry, I make the decision to make it less oppressive but making myself BELIEVE it is something more fascinating that just washing dirty clothes! I think about how wonderfully awesome my clothes are going to smell when I extract them from the dryer. Whewwwwww! What are you enthusiastic about?

You may be wondering why I am referencing Thanksgiving in April. I too wonder where I will go with this title. While Thanksgiving is a holiday, I am referring to is the act of giving thanks, thanksgiving. Each week on my talk radio show Thinking Beyond Your Current Circumstances, I speak about my love for Toyota and how I adore the dedication, teamwork, work ethic and commitement to quality that team members demonstrate each day. My purpose is to echo this gratitude in essence offer my thanksgiving for the opportunity to work with outstanding individuals who continue to keep me moving forward. Who do you offer thanksgiving to? Initiative is the pass key that opens the door to opportunity. Have you ever had an opportunity knock at your metaphorical door without you first taking action? For most of us this does not happen, typically, we must exert some effort first (to get the ball rolling). For example Publishers Clearing House will NEVER come to your house with camera's, ballon's and that big paper check with your name on it, if you never enter their drawing. So stop procrastinating and getting going! Your future self is waiting! Why is it so cold today? It's April for crying out loud! Every other person I talked to today commented about the weather. I wonder what Al Gore is thinking? I picture him saying "I tried to tell them!" Next to God nobody, I mean nobody is as popular as the weather. Okay I'm going to say it . . . not even Obama. Now that's popular : ) |
